About Allie
Allie is a small, self-service tool that makes automated accessibility testing quick for people who are not accessibility specialists.
Why Allie exists
Accessibility problems on websites are common, and they stop real people from reading, buying, booking or applying. Many teams and small organisations know this matters but do not know where to start, and a full manual audit can feel out of reach.
Allie gives you a fast first step. Paste a page address, see what automated testing finds, fix the common problems, and keep a dated record as you improve.
What Allie is
- A web app that loads a public page in a real browser and tests it with axe-core, an open-source accessibility engine, against WCAG 2.2 A and AA.
- An issue list grouped by severity, suggested HTML fixes for common problems and a PDF report.
- Built and run as an independent product. We have not been audited or endorsed by any standards body, regulator or accessibility vendor, and Allie is not affiliated with Deque Systems or the W3C.
What Allie is not
- It is not a full accessibility audit. Automated testing cannot find every issue, so we recommend manual review and testing with assistive technology as well.
- It does not certify conformance with WCAG, the ADA or any other law, and it is not legal advice.
How we work
We try to be plain about what the tool can and cannot do. Our testing approach is described on the methodology page, and how we handle your data is on the security and privacy page. If something looks wrong, or you found a false result, please tell us at hello@a11ie.io.
